We’d like to share a fun, simple, and free way for you to support Mesquite Social Services and get your friends involved in our mission to help our neighbors experiencing a financial crisis.
This month, the top NCAA basketball teams will face off in the biggest basketball tournament of the year. Odds are you’ve seen the brackets that people like to fill out during the tournament. Now you and your friends can fill out a bracket online to support Mesquite Social Services! The folks at The Charity Bracket will donate $50,000 to Mesquite Social Services if you have the best score at the end of the tournament. Mesquite Social Services can also win an additional $50,000 prize even if you don’t have the highest score. It costs NOTHING for you to play and win on behalf of Mesquite Social Services.
It’s simple and anyone can play. Pick the teams you think will win (or if you’re like most people, just take wild guesses and hope you get lucky!) You can also create private groups to compete with your friends and co-workers. Invite your friends, have some fun and support Mesquite Social Services!
“‘It came with out ribbons! It came without tags!’
‘It came without packages, boxes or bags!’
And he puzzled three hours, till his puzzler was sore.
Then the Grinch thought of something he hadn’t before!
‘Maybe Christmas,’ he thought, ‘doesn’t come from a store.’
‘Maybe Christmas…perhaps…means a little bit more!'” ~ Dr. Seuss
Skip the Black Friday stuff and make the holiday season a little bit more.
We wanted to take a moment to express our thanks to our local PepsiCo employees for spending the day with us yesterday (October 22nd). They worked exceptionally hard in our food pantry, thrift store, and our office!
Join Mesquite Social Services and other food pantries across the nation to raise awareness about America’s food insecurity crisis during September’s Hunger Action Month.

What can YOU do?
Support your local food pantry: Mesquite Social Services (MSS) is the cornerstone organization of Mesquite that has been serving the community for over 50 years. MSS not only serves our neighbors in need with food, but we also provide assistance with rent and utilities as well as free, online GED prep courses.
Volunteer: Your time is precious to you and to MSS clients! Join Michael Houck Monday mornings at 9am for volunteer orientation.
Donate: We appreciate your generous donations via mail or through our website. (Don’t forget – your donation goes even further if you give on North Texas Giving Day on September 17th!)
Spread the Word: Talk about Hunger Action Month with your family and friends. Be sure to follow MSS on Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn.
Let’s put an end to any family going to bed hungry!
